Turning lines into surfaces and relief.

These sculptural studies explore curved paths, rounded turns and depth. Drawn lines become grooves and raised surfaces in physical pieces. The series brings graphic exploration together with milling and 3D-printing experiments.

Exploring a repeated line

The graphic work combines parallel paths and interlocking curves. Its repeated shapes create a visual vocabulary that can also be read in the physical studies.

Giving the line depth

The pieces explore how a path changes when it is cut into a panel or raised from a surface. Recorded milling and printing experiments connect this investigation to making. The different finishes also change how light reveals the curves.
