Capsule is a study of small two-part containers. Sketches and physical models explore the outer shape, the opening line and the internal holder. The work focuses on how these elements fit together at the scale of the hand.

Working on the opening line

The sketches vary the proportions and the line separating the two halves. This makes the opening part of the form itself. Open and cutaway models explore the space available for an internal holder.

Comparing the forms

The physical variants allow their contours and internal arrangements to be seen together. The outdoor composition offers a second view of their shapes, while the model series keeps the focus on the object’s construction.
